First Look
I had long wanted to try an electric lawn tractor, but Had no impetus to do so. Then, in April/May of 2008, our 13+ year old gas riding mower started to have all sorts of problems. I patched it up, but it was obvious a replacement was needed. After searching the usual places, I located an E-15 for sale in Michigan. It looked somewhat promising, and was already started as a project. Here’s what was advertised (the dog was not included):
Didn’t look too bad at the time, it seemed to be mostly sheet metal work. And it was complete and correct, with a mower deck, for only $400! So I went for it. Unfortunately, the shipping wound up being more than the sales price, but them’s the breaks, I guess. For some reason, most of these are located in the northeast and Midwest, and I needed to have it shipped to Savannah, GA. I guess I’ll find out if there was a reason why GE didn’t sell these down here…
